What about έως and ώς?

έως is an accepted translation

Thanks! I've got a book in which ώς is used as μέχρη, what's wrong with that word?

I added it right now. Thanks for your feedback!

I'm glad it only gets marked as a typo, but I really need to stop forgetting that there's a distinct letter for the ps sound; Ψ not ΠΣ!

Could μέχρι απόψε be used as "later tonight" or is it more like in the usage of "not until tonight"

Could "μέχρι (απόψε)" be used where you're saying goodbye to someone you will see again later in the evening?

No, I don't think so. It's not a phrase that makes sense in Greek, like it does so in English. :P

Tons of americanisms accepted to the detriment of comprehensible translation, but not tonite?

According to Merriam-Webster: Definition of tonite. : a blasting explosive consisting of a mixture of guncotton with a nitrate and sometimes a nitro compound.
Collins dictionary: Tonite definition: an explosive used in quarrying.

I'm pretty sure this is not what you have in mind. Also, Duolingo is an American company and it promotes (and requires) embracing differences from its users. You may want to read more here.
