Tried to write in German

Tried to write something in German, very much appreciated if someone could do the checking for me.

Jetzt kann ich nur einfache Sätze schreiben. Ich wunsche eines Tages, könnte ich Poem in Deutsch schreiben. Ich fühle einfach dass es natürlich eine Sprache für Poem ist. Bin ich zu ehrgeizig?

Am Anfang ich war wirklich über die Reihenfolge der Worte verwechseln, aber erfahre ich jetzt deshalb Deutsch ist so poetisch und schön zu hören.

Hi, first of all congrats for your effort and your enthusiasm :) In German, a poem is called "Gedicht" (article: das, Plural: Gedichte). Let me try to correct the first section of what you wrote: Jetzt kann ich nur einfache Sätze schreiben. Ich wünsche, ich könnte eines Tages Gedichte auf Deutsch schreiben. Ich fühle einfach, dass es natürlich eine Sprache für Gedichte ist. Bin ich zu ehrgeizig? When it comes to the second section, it would be helpful if you could add the "original" english thoughts that you wanted to express. I am not 100% sure what exactly you wanted to express here, especially in the first segment of the sentence.

I can only write simple sentences now. Hopefully one day I could write poem in German. I just feel that it's naturally a language for poem. Am I too ambitious?

At the beginning of the lesson, I was really confused about the words order, but now I found out that's why German is so poetic and beautiful to hear.

(Sorry I'm not a native English speaker as well.)

"Am Anfang (des Kurses?) hat mich die Reihenfolge der Wörter wirklich verwirrt (I feel that it sounds way better to say "it confused me" than "I was confused about..." in this German sentence, I'm a native speaker) aber jetzt habe ich erfahren, dass Deutsch deshalb so poetisch und schön anzuhören ist." (By the way: do you want to say that the word order is the reason why German is poetic?)

Thank you so much. And yes, I want to say that the word order is the reason why German is poetic. Isn't it true? :D Anyway it's only my own feel.

" Ich wünsche, {ich könnte} eines Tages Gedichte auf Deutsch schreiben"

are " ich könnte" and " könnte ich" exchangeable?

No, the word order should be "ich könnte" in this sentence.

i learn from Duo, after the coma, always followed by a verb, when will it be exception?

I think that was referring to Nebensätze.

"natürlich" and "naturally" are false friends. In your sentence "natürlich" means "of course". But you meant to write: "von Natur aus". I'll just write how I would have written your sentences:

Zur Zeit kann ich nur einfache Sätze schreiben. Eines Tages aber wünsche ich mir, auf Deutsch Gedichte schreiben zu können. Ich fühle einfach, dass Deutsch von Natur aus eine poetische Sprache ist. Bin ich zu ehrgeizig?

Am Anfang hat mich die Reihenfolge der Worte wirklich verwirrt, jetzt weiß ich jedoch, dass Deutsch gerade darum so poetisch und schön anzuhören ist.

Your last sentence was actually very ambitious. You could easily make it three or more sentences (Am Anfang hatte ich ein Problem. Die Reihenfolge der Worte war verwirrend/schwierig. Jetzt weiß ich es besser. Denn gerade deshalb ist Deutsch so poetisch und hört sich so schön an.) Of course that would be longer, but you can express everything with simple sentences, and I find it very important to start out with them. If you get more accustomed with the language combining the simple sentences will get more natural.

Don't hesitate to ask me, why I changed something in your text.

I hope I could be of help.

I think I need to take a few days to study it. Thank you very much for your help. I am going to follow you, if you don't mind.

"Jetzt weiß ich es besser. Denn gerade deshalb ist Deutsch so poetisch und hört sich so schön an."

I translate this sentence as " Now I know it better. Just because of it, that's why German is so poetic and sounds so beautifully."

Not quite sure about the use of "Denn gerade".

"Denn" is a handy word for making logical conclusions. It means "because"/"for" but is followed by a mainclause other than the synonym "weil", so it does not need to refer to a connected mainclause which would not make much sense here but can also give a reason for something else. "gerade" is here "exactly" or "precisely". So the full sentence would be: "Now I know it better. For that is precisely the reason why German is ..." It would work without "gerade" but as "deshalb" is refering to two sentences before, the word makes it less ambiguous as it puts the emphasize on the reason.

I need to do an English draft first before I do the German writing. Anyone doing the same thing?

the more you write in german, the less you'll need to write a draft in english first.
