Finished German. Is there any more?
I've just mastered all the lessons in German. Is there anything else? Or can I just refresh skills and translate sentences. I'm waiting eagerly for French.
Translating sentences is a lot better for learning if you already know the lessons. There are many more things to learn by translating.
Currently duolingo offers only Spanish lessons besides German. Select from the top of the homepage tree.
Wadjin, I'm finding many similarities between Spanish and French - starting on Spanish may give you a jumpstart on French when it comes! Alternatively, diligently answer Qs and post Insights so the rest of us can catch up to you in German ;)
Thanks for the suggestions but my goal is to become fluent in German - not just stay at a very basic level. I guess I'll have to go elsewhere to move to a higher level of proficiency in German. That said - Duolingo is great for getting a basic understanding & the crowdsourcing idea of language translation seems to work.
My German has certainly improved over the last year. I've supplemented Duolingo with a number of German grammar text books and I watch the German news on TV And as many German movies as I can, and I try to read German newspapers. I feel my progress is very slow. I'm sure it would be a lot faster if I could ptactise conversation with others. I generally find the duolingo lessons pretty easy now.
