From Average to Best in class
I'm a 12 year old grade 8 student, and i love learning new languages! I saw your TED talks video(Luis) -my dad showed me- and it was so cool. i loved what you guys did, and how you everyone who made this website thought about it. so creative and clever! i have only just started taking the french lessons, and i'm going to do the Spanish one next. Loving it on duoLingo! this has really helped me at school with my french skills, now i'm one of the best in class! Thanks you guys!
I wish Duolingo was around when I was in school! I might have stood a chance! :P
Good job, and good luck with your language learning. :)
same here! I hate how much i love to learn things on Duolingo that i hated when I was in school
I knooow!!, by now i would be fluent in 2 more languages Plus we all know there are studies that say that it's far easier to learn languages when you are younger and it's less likely you will have a thick accent lol Cheers!
:) lol thx! nd yh its true, u do learn better at my age bcz ur mind is so open to new things, example my mom couldnt learn french as fast as i could. we both started but she couldnt get it, so she jus gave up XD.
My grandpa tried to speak English once... he tried to pronounce "sock" but it turns out he spoke it like "sook" instead. I can't wait for the Chinese-English one to come out so that he could actually learn English!
It just happened couple of months ago, so 7/8 months, I estimate. Much faster in French, because I was already fluent, a little longer in German, Italian and Spanish, which I had studied, and the longest in Portuguese, which I just started in August.
gr8 job! good for u, learning all these languages! thats awesome! i wanna learn lots of different languages so i could visit other countries, and also, i want a strong accent in the languages too. wish me luck :)
yeah bro, this is only a beginning, good luck and selfdiscipline in your learning
thanks! :D and ik, its jus the beginning, but i guess, i feel like i'm getting better at learning new words in class ever since i started duolingo. maybe it changed the way i study. :) and thanks again
between duolingo and memrise my spanish teacher thought i actually spoke spanish :) i eventually told her i didn't and now i'm like a teacher's assistant. she doesn't even grade 75% of my work anymore because she knows i got it right haha
lol thats awesome! i wanna be just like u except in french, and few other languages like arabic, spanish, portuguese, and a few more cuz i wanna travel in the future when im in university, or probably after that...lol.
That's wonderful. I also wish Duolingo had been around when I started taking highschool French (60 years ago). I might have had more fun with it.
If you want more inspiration, watch this guy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FOiXtWcQ8GI
Well I should clarify that he didn't use duolingo. But learned the languages the way I learned Enlish, by reading, writing, conversing, and watching movies in those languages etc.
He spoke 20+ languages by the time he was 16!
I wish Duolingo was around when I took languages in school! I hope a lot of teachers now would encourage their students to use this website.
ikr, my teachers dont, but i have told some of my friends from french class about this website. not sure if they use it, but i told them about it!
Wow, I just saw the TED Talk. Thanks to you and thanks to Duolingo Team.
Keep on learning new languages! You won't regret it when you're older, that's for sure. :)
Thanks for writing about TED talks, I didn't know about it. I'm a big fan of Duolingo, really enjoying learning!
