MOOC in French from the University of Geneva (for intermediate/advanced French students)

These days I'm interested in the history of the Reformation and... I'm learning French in Duolingo. Well... what better way to combine my efforts than enrolling in a new course from the University of Geneva on Jean Calvin?

You can find the course here: Calvin - Histoire et réception d'une Réforme

I'm such a nerd. I find it so cool to be able to follow the lessons. If I need help I can turn on the subtitles in French (!!).

Also, you can find some free courses on edx.org.

Brilliant! I had seen courses available in languages other than English before (Chinese and Portuguese, I think), so I should've thought of this too! Haha if I hadn't already enrolled in three courses that start this month, I'd jump in as well!

Thanks a lot Jean-Rousseau. The course starts next Monday but you can already access the videos. These people speak soooooo clearly. They represent a nice break from our friendly robots at Duolingo :-)

It's free. If you want a certificate then you have to pay a modest fee. Here's a few others:

You are thinking of Martin Luther. This one is about John Calvin. Calvin was 12 in 1521. But you are right, that was a fascinating event: a man defying an emperor (and what an emperor).

Thank you for sharing this! :) I just began the course today and was excited to find that I could actually (mostly) follow along with no subtitles. I was also excited to see that there are a number of other courses taught in French, hopefully they will still be available when this one is over.

I'm glad you liked it. I'm doing both: the one on Calvin and the one on Moral Philosophy. I feel like I'm college again ( I haven't been for a while)
