Translation:La donna sente il gusto del pane.

Why does it call it 'peeking' when I click on a word I've never seen before! It hurts my feelings. :(

My sentiment exactly!

well, "assagiare" was a new word, I think, but it looked the most promising of the three words given in the hints. So I tried "La donna assaggia il pane" and, lo and behold! - It was marked as correct.

So... the direct translation of this would be "The woman tastes the taste of the bread?" Why can't it be "La donna sente il pane?"

we had "...sente il sapore..." before in another exercise, but it is not shown in the 'hover' in this sentence

AND I used "sente il sapore" here and it was marked wrong!

La donna gusta ii pane. What is the point of using del or sente here??

That means she likes the bread, not she tastes.

Sente il gusto del pane is literally feels the taste of the bread.
