The only course update we have this week is from the ever faithful Czech team. Yes, they have earned the Star Update Award for two weeks in a row!
1350 words, 68%.
Vietnamese for English is now out of beta!

If we define waiting as starting when a course is added to the Incubator, this one really does hold the record: http://duolingo.wikia.com/wiki/Course_list.
It was added in a crazy week when Duolingo added a total of seven courses withing seven days, and the fastest one of those to come out in beta was Dutch, just over four months later. Veteran Duolingoists remember the race between Irish and Dutch as Itch. :-)
Of the other ones started that week, Hungarian also took its time and needed several regroupings of the team, but now (after 2 1/2+ years), Romanian is set to be the last one of these to come out! :-)
Thanks for sharing that! Once Romanian hatches, I say let's all give some love and encouragement to English for Thai, and so on down the list. Romanian learners must be so excited/frustrated that their course has nearly arrived!
My feeling was correct then. I knew it had been just ages. And I do remember the race between Irish and Dutch. :)
This is awesome! I am always amazed how extensive Duolingo has become. From the days in 2013when I started, so many languages have been added and the incubator shows that this continuous progress to more languages is still effective! Congratulations to Duolingo and thanks to the course developers!
Vietnamese for English is not out of beta!
I think you mean "now" out of beta.
I would like to blame it to the auto-correct wizard who has no idea of what is going on in the Duoworld! :)
The wizard should read your updates, that's how the rest of us keep track! 8-)
It's good, it means they're adding more words. So even though the completion percentage has gone down, they have actually made progress, and the end course will have even more material.
Yeah, what is going on? The top half of the table is basically static.
That's alright, take all the time you need. It is wonderfully that week after week you post these. They are always incredible to see. I stand in awe of the work the teams do, in the work you do to compile and chart everything, and in the community all coming together to check-in and catch up. Deep breaths, we will be here to cheer for you no matter the delay. :D
I am dying here. I really want DE for IT to finally be available. (Not even to mention ES for IT, I lost hope to ever see this one...)
Spanish for Arabic seems to be the new Czech for English course in terms of weekly progress.
I'm finally glad to see English for Tagalog. Now my friend can improve his English. Any possible chance of having Tagalog for English speakers so I can learn my friend's language, too?
Also, I hope Esperanto for Spanish speakers would get released, too. I know that English speakers already have it, but I want to use my Spanish for it. Will the Esperanto for Spanish have more content than the English?
Wow. English for Tagalog. Cool! I'm so excited. I don't know much Tagalog but at least I can use the reverse tree to learn it. Awesome. I wish it will be ready in November. LOL. I know that's impossible but I can still wish.
Good to see team Telugu on the move, though I'm still sceptical of their completion date. Maybe it was meant as a completion of planning date and now they are going to speed through the building process.
Romanian, Czech and Swahili look very close to hatching, which is great.
The languages I'd like to see added are Latin and Japanese. When Romanian comes out of beta all the major Romance languages will be on Duolingo, so getting to learn the language they all sprang from would be amazing.
And Japanese is a language I have wanted to learn at least a little of for a long time.
Oh, that's a shame.
It looks so close, of course Hungarian did hover at 99-100% for a long time before hatching.
If you read the update, it clearly says "Czech 68% - Estimated completion 7-Jul-2017"
We get comments about being 99% done very often. I used to think it was because of the inaccurate course status page graphic. But WIU is entirely devoid of that worthless fluff, so what gives?
C'mon team Swahili :( I know you help people, keep up the work. I'll wait for the course even if that means waiting until 2018. I really do look forward for it. YOU CAN DO IT!
Why so sad, though? They still have the same plan of December 1st, don't they? If it's because of the lack of increase in percentages, I think that's probably because they're currently just waiting for/exploring the audio recordings, right?
I agree though, I'm looking forward to it a ton.
