Why is hungarian so hard? I type the answers in correctly in english, but it tells me im wrong and give me another sentence that means the same thing.
There's a reason for that. Those are two different sentences with two different Hungarian versions. "A" and "the" are two different determiners.
"Egy" = "A"
"A/Az" = "The"
This is explained in the Tips and Notes in Basics 1.
Edit: Oops! Arcaeca, you're right. That's a little confusing, actually. A does not equal A. Note to self.
