How to Level up?

Im a bit tired of practicing with the same stuff, same words, pretty much in the same level. I started yesterday... Im new, and it's awesome. I love it. But I'd love to practice with new vocabulary! How is this suppose to work?

thanks a lot!

If you know some of german already and first levels are too easy, you have two options:

You can "test out" a skill... Go to a skill you have not done yet and click "test out". You will be given about 20 questions and you can only make 3 mistakes.. by doing this you can do whole skill at once.

OR you can take a shortcut buy going to your tree and clicking on "test out x skills" .. where x is the number of skills that are missing to reach that spot in the tree. By doing this you can do more skills at once. There is more of these testing points in the whole tree. Hope this makes sense.

Well, if you already know the basics of German, you can select the "Test out of # skills" to take a test to prove that you know it, and then you can skip it. If you don't know the words, then keep going ahead in the skill tree. If you are talking about your actual level in German that everyone can see, then I suggest doing Immersion.

Hi there! Well, the only way to level up is to learn all the stuff they throw at you, and yes it is tiring, trust me, ive been taking french for a while and i lost my streak. But, it is good to still go over things. Now, the best thing that you can do is keep your streak. I promise, IT WILL make you level up.

Uebung macht den Meister. Practice makes perfect. Isn't that how you learned your native language? By hearing the same words over and over. The Duolingo system of introducing new words is one of the most helpful I've ever seen. Make it your goal to finish the German tree. Next keep it all gold, and advance to the reverse tree. Es gibt viel zu lernen. Ich wuenche Dir viel Erfolg!

Finish the German tree first and then do the reverse tree, i.e. English with German as a base language.

just keep practising. it gets harder to level up as you go.
