In other sentences there was either the word "fireman" or "firefighter" - "firefighter" is not correct here - why?

You need the plural words, firemen or firefighters.

"I look for" or "I am looking for" are the same.

  • When I see a burning house I look for firefighters.
  • My house is burning, so I am looking for firefighters.

Imho the two forms are not exchangeable.

Would be great if the option of firefighters would be given rather than firemen

What is the difference between keresek and kerek in this case please?

"Keres" (with marks over the letters "e") [TO request] VERSUS "keres" (without any marks over the letters "e") [TO look FOR].
