Is this banner correct?

I would've thought the banner would read "REICHTUMS" instead of "REICHTUM", like it says on canoo: http://www.canoo.net/inflection/reichtum:N:M

It seems like a contradiction.. Can anyone help please? This language gets more confusing every day I swear xD

It would then need to be "Wegen des Reichtums*"

But without an article, in this case "des" then it's just Reichtum

I tried to look around online and I found this:

https://kurier.at/chronik/weltchronik/oesterreicherin-in-dubai-wegen-drogenschmuggels-verurteilt/224.313.475

The base word is Drogenschmuggel, but they actually DID use the form with an "s". I noticed the paper is from Austria, so I will assume this is a feature of Austrian German.

Thanks for your help!!

No, the Austrian part doesn't have an influence on this :)
If in doubt, consult Duden: http://www.duden.de/rechtschreibung/wegen
"Ein allein stehendes, stark gebeugtes Substantiv im Singular bleibt im Allgemeinen ungebeugt:
wegen Diebstahl
wegen Umbau geschlossen"
This means both "wegen Reichtums" and "wegen Reichtum" are possible, but the version without the -s is more common.

Somehow, I'd never come across the fact that 'beugen' is the word used for declension in German.

For some reason, I find that very amusing.
