German tree. Done!
Hooray! I finished my German tree today. I realize, it could have been done faster, but I repeated the exercises many times while I was doing that. Now, I have a strike of 225 days, I earned 16450 points (level 20), and the whole tree is currently "golden". Still, I do not feel that I am confident with the words I have learnt, so it will require much more practice. But now I will focus more on movies, books, podcasts and trying to speak to native speakers.
Well done! I'm still a newbie to German (6% fluent having only started about 2 weeks ago) but I'm really enthusiastic and hope to get to your stage as quickly as I can. Even though you don't feel confident yet, I hope it's given you the tools to continue your studies so you can move beyond short sentences and into "real world" German. I'm aiming to finish my German tree before 2016 is out and before the end of next year, I dream that I'll be able to make a decent stab at a fairly moderate German book. Do you have any reading material lined up to start on?
I think for now you should focus on getting the basics. Once you start understanding basic sentences, you can try to read some books. Following the advice from some other discussions on Duolingo, I bought a book titled "Dino lernt Deutsch". Also, someone recommended me this website: http://readlang.com/de/library
