Are "prynhawn sadwrn" and "prynhawn dydd sadwrn" both correct?

yes, but "prynhawn dydd Sadwrn" is formal while " prynhawn Sadwrn" is less formal.

Why would "Sadwrn" be capitalized when I think "lau" is with a lower case?

The name of the day is always capitalised:

  • dydd Sul - Sunday - S
  • dydd Llun - Monday - Ll
  • dydd Iau - Thursday - I (capital I for India)

See the notes for the section on 'Days' for more details and examples.
