Conjugation help please
Could someone please help me with the present tense conjugation of Podozhdát'
The perfective aspect has no present tense.
hm, what about я поджидаю? ya podzhidayu (i'm waiting/i wait) ты поджидаешь и т.д.
Are you a native speaker? I'm pretty sure поджидать is imperfective, otherwise it wouldn't have a present tense, and according to this table подождать is its perfective form, just like in ждать's case: https://www.verbix.com/webverbix/go.php?T1=%D0%BF%D0%BE%D0%B4%D0%B6%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B0%D1%82%D1%8C=Go=214
If that link doesn't work, there's also Wiktionary: https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/%D0%BF%D0%BE%D0%B4%D0%B6%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B0%D1%82%D1%8C
ok, it's a strongly scietific explanation, can't disagree. Just in colloquial speech if I need to say I'm waiting I'd say я жду/поджидаю/ожидаю. I even think ожидаю is better than поджидаю. Поджидать means to do something unexpected when somebody appears
Thanks for explaining me the difference between поджидать and ожидать, I didn't know that :)
DuoFaber has already given you the answer. If you do need to determine how a verb is conjugated or a noun (etc.) is declined this page is great.
Graphically is is quite old fashioned and does not give adequate definitions but is very good for inflections of words with accents, searching from any form of a word. Do not use "ё" in your search, as it will not be recognized. To tell which verb forms are perfective or imperfective, the line "Словарная информация:" will say "НСВ" for imperfective" and СВ" for perfective.
