Here's what the contributing teams have said during the last week:
(For Phase-1 and Phase-2 courses by default, and for Phase-3 courses per request).
adding PH-exclusive words
I still can't seem to successfully add a word. These are some words I think should be added in the list: - kalabaw/carabao - Manila - Quezon City - mangga/mango
Just being a bit picky, historically speaking
The lighter blue shade of the Philippine flag that I see in the icon was only used during the Martial Law period. Maybe we can request to have it changed to the actual royal blue shade that is used today?
30 October 2016
Happy (almost) Halloween! ^^
- 800/2497 words
- 91/100 images
In the past day our total number of words has dropped. The skeleton tree that we started with has placeholder skills full of vocabulary. As we prepare to convert those for our course, we delete many of those placeholders and fill the skills back up with new words. As we make ready to next few skills to be developed, our total number of words will rebound quickly.
In the past week we completed Written/해라체 and Sino-Korean Numbers. As we finish up with Past Tense we are also looking ahead to Food 2, Time, and Gerund.
The Esperanto for Spanish course is now in beta! And team Tagalog is further accelerating their progress!!

Would love to hear more from the Swahili team :( I am really looking forward to the course.
I've messaged one of them, they said they're about to start the recordings.
4 courses on 99/100%...so agonisingly close...
As always, thank you jitengore for your helpful and informative posts :D
I've been here long enough to know that today being the day Romanian is supposed to come out means nothing... Still psyched though.
I have to admit that all of this suspense is making me want to try Romanian. I hadn't planed on it when I first saw that they were developing it, but any course which has been in development longer than I have been on Duolingo tugs my curiosity.
There is pretty much no way I can't do the Romanian course at this point anyway, but I really think it could turn out to be the most interesting of the Latin languages, even though it is usually overlooked.
Tagalog is making super quick progress! Can't wait to see a course coming out soon!
No problem! I have waay to many. Maaari kang magkaroon ng isa pa. :)
So great we now have the Esperanto course for Spanish-speakers. Congratulations to everyone who made this possible.

Unofficial update on Yiddish, from Mendl, one of the contributors:
I am moved by your desire for Yiddish course on Duolingo, as soon as ever possible. But I beg you to wait just a little bit longer. I admit (and beg your forgiveness for the fact) that we are no masters of public relations – and I do not question your disappointment nor the angst we’ve caused you all by not keeping you up-to-date as regards the course. And yet, I have the nerve to ask you to wait just a short while longer, because as far as Yiddish teaching goes, we really do bring experience and an earnest approach to the work (no matter what shlimazels we may be as regards PR). And although it appears that the course has simply come to a halt, the metrics on the website do not in fact reflect the actual state of the course today. I will post about all of that at length soon, but in the meantime I will say: our progress has not been visible on the website, because we have been working offline. This is for a few reasons, primarily to avoid specific obstacles we encountered in our first go at building the course. At any rate, the work will very soon transition online, and you will all see the course take shape as it currently stands, and will see the work that still remains before us. I assure you, there is not so very much as you expect.
German for Italian already finished their course. " 12 hours ago Liebe Alle,

"Today our team has reached an important milestone: 100% !! This means that the course is complete and has been sent to the Duolingo team for the necessary checks. So, at this point release in Beta it is no longer in our hands, and we look forward as much as you.
But our work is not finished. There is still much debugging to do, and your report will help very much in Beta us improve the course.
Bis bald, Marco."
Great news! That's another marathon process nearing its end... It's been in the Incubator since September 2014!
Glad to see that Esperanto for Spanish speakers finally hit beta, I noticed just over 24 hours ago and pounced at the opportunity to reinforce both languages :))
Wow! It must have taken hours to write this - it definitely deserves 100+ upvotes!
honestly, exceptional progress by the korean and tagalog teams. really look forward to those
There are some mysteries out there, but the status of the Czech course should not be one of them. At least this aliasing phenomenon may eventually create an illusion of a 2% increment. One can dream big.
