Messaging friends on the iphone app

On the site it's great that you can message friends, and i've been using it to send messages between friends in the language i'm learning, to get some interaction. But this is missing from the iphone app.

From talking with several friends, there is a definite sense that duolingo can be quite isolated in learning on the app. After using the app for a week, i've been doing far more lessons, because it's very easy to do a few on the go.

Alas, learning on your own can get quite boring, and i keep forgetting about duolingo from time to time, mainly because there's no interaction between people i know on here talking about it. So i've been encouraging friends to start using it a lot more to help the process.

We're all at at similar level learning german, and all use the app more than the site. So it would be great if there was a way to message each other on the app. Some encouragement to keep using it, and testing each other with our current words. It's even funny just seeing how much you don't understand, and when you get sentences wrong with each other.

I agree! I would like to message my friends on the duolingo app too :)

I've been trying to figure that out for a long time

Oui bien sûr a texting feature would be pretty cool

Is there a way to send in comments about upgrading the app so that we are able to communicate with friends.

Has this been updated yet? Seems strange you can't do it.
