Just as sometimes you just have to memorize classifiers without knowing the reason why, we seem to have graduated to a whole sentence to memorize without really understanding it.

from what i understand, it seems to say something like "we, whoever's way, that person goes" in an idiomatic way, which could be interpreted as "we go our separate ways"

I consulted a native speaker on this. She said that is a common sentence in Vietnam and is a polite way of saying you want to break up or get a divorce. Vietnamese are so polite.
