This sounds like they, (Duolingo Ukrainian language staff) are trying 'too hard' to think and speak in English in the Ukrainian language.! It does not "flow"....Ukrainian is a very musical language. Let us use it properly....

This sentence sounds very natural to my ear. What exactly sounds wrong in it?

If you don't like the intonation, maybe you could provide your own recording? However, please note that the recordings in the Ukrainian corse are done my a real native speaker. Some other courses use synthesised audio, but Ukrainian sentences are recorded by a native speaker.

I don't find this intonation incorrect, although it comes off as a bit annoyed.
