Trying to "teach" French on Youtube
Hello French learners!
So I've always liked making videos and never really knew what I wanted to make my videos about when I suddenly got an idea. I'm bilingual so why not make short videos about French and give it a French Canadian twist?
I've made a Youtube channel on which I only have a few videos so far. I realize it's an tremendous amount of work just writing scripts and doing research, and then filming and editing. I also need practice to become more at ease in front of the camera. I realize I can't do this alone and need feedback from actual learners like you guys! What would you guys like to see and what should I improve?
Thank you! ;)
EDIT As a few people have requested, I've made a blog for my channel too: https://redpaparmane.wordpress.com/
Wow, love the idea! I've always wanted to learn more about le français quebecois because at school we had classes only in Parisian French.
Merci beaucoup pour ton effort ! Je suis sûr que ta chaîne de YouTube sera très réussie. Bonne chance ! :)
Thanks. There are a lot of French videos on Youtube but not many from Quebec.
You're welcome :D.
Great idea, and you have a very charming screen presence! I would like to hear more French right off the bat, even if you are going for beginning users. Saying sentences clearly and slowly, even if they are short and then repeated or paraphrased in English would be what I want.
Wonderful idea, and cute channel by the way!
Try shouting out apps and things like Duolingo's apps, give them study ideas (like writing stuff on paper and studying them) Perhaps differences with words, like il. Il can sometimes mean He or They, so explain to them how that works, etc etc. Also, possibly making a blog might be a good. Try using Wordpress.
Vorylon merci for giving your time to help people like me beginner I would like to learn french badly .
1st: after using this app I can't catch proper pronunciation cause no option for slow pronunciation.
2nd: I really prefer starting with the basic grammar after getting 100 vocabulary so that I can build strong basic for the language.
3rd: build your own space a blog would be great idea for discussion and to keep answers for common questions.
All the best
Thanks! After watching my own videos again and again for the closed caption transcripts, I've realized I speak a little too fast and will try to speak slower for people who want to hear the pronunciation properly like you.
I've started working on the blog and also have my navigation classes to deal with too, but it's coming!
Wow. Channels like this are a huge help when you're learning a language by yourself, and I think this one has the potential to become very successful in the future. It reminds me a bit of Deutsch für Euch and Don't Trust the Rabbit, two language channels I love.
Good luck! :)
(how do you say "goodluck" in french?)
PS: How different are Canadian and European French? Does it make much of a difference?
Thanks and it's "Bonne chance" in French.
Well, the basic French is the same but customs and local expressions are completely different
Tu est trés belle et amusante :) J'aime ton accent.. Je te souhaite une bonne chance ;)
I just saw two of your videos and they were great! You definitely look at ease in front of the camera. I wish I knew about these earlier as I went to Québec this past summer, but they will be helpful when I return.
You got a new subscriber and I wish you the best!
heyho Vorylon, tes vidéos sont bon. Mais, j'ai une suggestion. J'aime mieux les vidéos qui contient des dialogues bref, quelques phrases courtes qui-t-ont de bonnes relations. bonne chance, et merci :-)
I loved it a lot! the only thing I have for you is to talk a little louder. Other than that your good to go!
Thanks! Yeah, I know about the sound, currently thinking of buying one of those clip-on microphones... the only problem is I'd have to change to my other camera since that one doesn't have a mic input
Very enjoyable and educational - your effort and time creating these videos is much appreciated! You have an obvious talent and passion for this work. My only suggestion is to consider replacing the cat emoji with your own emoji likeness to enhance your brand recognition - it really does look like you!
Thanks! Well, I wanted the fox (not cat haha) to become kind of a mascot but I'll probably be using the one of myself once in a while.
