Mission accomplished.

Vennligst = friendliest

Literally '*Wineliest', venn=wine, the word became obsolete in Middle English, still found in names like Godwin (God-friend), Baldwin (bold-friend), Irwin (Eoforwin=boar-friend).

So an equivalent would be "kindly read this"?

I was marked correct for that exact translation.

Shouldn't this be vær så snill les dette?

  • "vennligst..." and "vær så snill og..." are synonymous.

Which is more used in Norway?

"Vær så snill og..." is more common in speech and "vennligst..." is more common on signs.
