Does oni and one both mean they????
both "oni" and "one" mean they, 3rd person plural pronoun, but they describe different groups.
-if there is at least one male person = oni - all female people= one
not people: - one
'Oni' is used for groups that contain at least one male person (so even if there is only one man among many women, you use 'oni'). 'One' for all other groups, so of neutral and female gender.
