Leem and Lêem

Could someone kindly explain the difference between these two words? I would be grateful.

Obrigada,

Oi Anne, both are the same thing, the verb "ler" (to read) in the 3rd person plural. What happened is that the Portuguese language went through a spelling reform and according to that "leem", that had a circumflex accent - "lêem" - is now written without it.

Are all of Duolingo's lessons following the reform?
