Translations in 'immersion'.

I was just wondering whether the translations in 'immersion' are to be made exactly to the point or do we change it to spoken English, so that they make more sense?

Neither. You want to convey the exact sense in a tone close to the original in appropriate written English. Not a literal translation that we would never write in English, nor spoken English, unless it is a transcript of spoken French or a script or something like that.

If you search the Discussion forums, there is a "Community Guidelines for Immersion" that one of the users(Dessamator, I think) put together. But the short answer is, keep it as close to the original as possible, but it should make sense as spoken english.

Piggybacking on mommarigo's comment, here you'll find the Immersion Community Guidelines in this link, along with other guides: https://www.duolingo.com/comment/1278938 ^_^
