After 459 days on Duolingo, I have just reached level 25 French (the language I started with).

What was your average day on Duolingo like? 10xp, 50xp, 200xp?

Average is probably about 80-100xp. No days have ever been less than 20 because that is still what my daily minimum is set to for my streak. Some days its a lot more but in general I try to keep my French, German, Dutch, Welsh and Italian trees gold which keeps me busy.

Wow, gold trees in French, German, Dutch, Welsh and Italian. Most impressive.
I have about 30 tasks to strengthen to get my French tree golden.

Yep keeps me busy. I had the advantage of already speaking Welsh pretty well but the other languages were all harder. Good luck with your French tree.

I completed level 17, but I don't see any way to go beyond 17. What do I do to find level 18?

Just keep practicing, and look at the immersion translations too. It is all points based and you can keep advancing until you reach level 25.

Keep slogging away. It seemed to me the interval of XP points increased as I moved up through to 25. Anyone know what comes after 25, and 65% fluency. I have slowed down since reaching level 25 as I don't know what next.

Thanks. I used an audio course, and other online materials, podcasts, films and books but no formal lessons as I cannot fit those in to my schedule just now. That means I now read and understand French quite well but I have no idea how well I speak it - probably not too well as I need practice at forming natural sentences on the fly. That is my next step I think.
