One Year Duo Anniversary!
Hey all. M.L. here. I have recently completed my eighth tree, Spanish from French, but that's not why I'm posting. (I posted that in the French forum two seconds ago.) Instead, it is officially my 1 year Duo anniversary! I'm glad not to be in the very large group that drops out after 1 or 2 lessons, but this journey was not easy. There have been trials and tribulations just like anything else. But I'm still here! And hopefully I'll be around for a long time.
When are your Duo anniversaries? Good luck on making them if you haven't! Thank you to all my friends, wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you!
Congratulations on your anniversary and your eighth tree! If you keep going through trees like this you will replace Paul Bunyan in American lumberjack folklore, they will put giant Multi0Lingual4 statues up all over the countryside.
Lento, I love the dancing confetti :) I wonder what ML did with her captured French/Spanish owl?
Anne, I LOVE Balloons. Where did you find a green owl with helium balloons that also says #duoversary?
I would love to see a picture of you eating ice cream the way your kitty eats her cake. I've heard that pets tend to act like their owners ;)
My duo anniversary was on October 2nd! I completed two years in Duolingo. Anyway! Congratulations on your achievements!
What a nice post. You are an inspiration and I appreciate your acknowledgement of your ups and downs. I am just coming to grips with "new material". I have done the easy part which was to start and now I have to give myself credit for that and study to move ahead. I started about 6-8 weeks ago so I'm still on the ground floor but enjoying it.
I am French level 10. I still have one "lesson" to go over for the first time but I am having to do lots of reviewing to get things so I can recall them. I think the first part of this phase was "easy" for me from my French years ago but the grammar and new vocabulary has finally caught up with me. I'm determined to not get discouraged. Your study of 9 languages is amazing!!!
ML, I wish for you rainbows, confetti, unicorns and other fun stuff :) (other fun stuff is still my favorite;) Congratulations Sweetie! You do make Duolingo a fun place to learn :)
I might be the one who 'suggests' the parties. You guys make them. Don't you remember when that quote was first said by you to me when I finished my French Tree? (and other fun stuff) is still my favorite part ;)
I think level 20+ in any language is better (in this case, you have 3.)
My one-year Duolingo anniversary was this past August. I am still working to master the Spanish tree. Then I will move on to the Spanish-to-English (reverse) tree to really cement things. From there, who knows.... perhaps I will begin a new language using Spanish as my base?!? That would be a challenge but definitely worth a try! Anyway, congrats on your journey and all your accomplishments. It is wonderful to meet other Duolingo enthusiasts like yourself. All the best to you!
My 1 year university is 16 of Jan (I think)...or was that July? :)
I've been for less than a week...... But Congratulations on your anniversary!
Congratulations! I have been here since sometime in March 2016, but I have only started to be really active a couple months ago.
Happy 30 day streak! I think you mean *eight trees. :P I would rather have level 19 in German...
Hehe, whoops! Eight years would be pretty cool, though! Thanks, I envy your level 21, too. (:
Gosh, well done, but I can't remember when I started using Duo... As far as I know, I might have passed the Duo anniversary :o
Congrats. I have no idea how long I've been here. Too long I guess.
Merci! You can check in settings and click on profile. But I guess some things are better left a mystery...Nice ten day streak!
Approaching 3 years...I feel old now for some reason. Thanks. I work hard for my 10 day streak.
That's pretty nice!!! Congrats on it, and wow 8 trees!!
I have two trees completed, english for portuguese speakers and the spanish tree for english speakers as well. However, not of those trees does actually makes me satisfied (I just did it for fun, I already know those) as for when I'll probably be when I finish the German tree which will be in a week.
It feels good to feel like "hey, you're learning, you got that!", I don't have more headaches when reading stuff in German, I can't understand everything, but knowing a few words and verbs are helping me to figure out and enjoy more the language.
I still don't know which tree to start next cuz I'll keep working hard on German and I don't want any other language to confuse me lol.
