First, nice incorporation of the course creators' names.

Second...would it be possible for "Andrei" to be accepted as well as "Andrew," since names are often not translated?

Please, spare me that translation! Andrei is Andrei, Andrew is Andrew, Andrea is Andrea and so on...

You deserve a lingot! It's ridiculous to translate names!!

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/sebastianmolin

Yes... it should be accepted...

I wrote it with "Andrei" not Andrew, and it worked for me - I'm guessing it is accepted.

Hm... I didn't see any other error that I had made. I must have missed something. I haven't spoken Romanian in years. Thanks!

I wrote "I am Sebastian and he is Andrew" and that is considered wrong (there should be no "and"), but "Andrei" is accepted.

My version was "Hi, I'm Sebastian and he's Andrei."

I was wondering if the English contractions would be accepted, and they were. Also insertion of "and" and use of Andrei rather than Andrew.

Maybe some changes have been made in a year.

I wrote it also with andrei but didnt get accepted.

Agreed. If Andrei, Ionna and Mihai were to introduce themselves, they would not translate their names. The other languages do not require a translation of names either. Also, as a learner of Romanian, having to recall the translations of names, in addition to the grammar and vocabulary is, in my opinion, unnecessarily challenging.

All I can think about is Sebastian Stan

Seb is singlehandedly increasing the popularity of learning Romanian. He gets so happy when he hears a fan speak Romanian to him! <3

      https://www.duolingo.com/profile/ryannichols7

haha, of all the courses on here I think this is the first one where I've seen the creators' names in here. very cool!

      https://www.duolingo.com/profile/Comrade_Lydia

Winter Soldier! Bucky! White Wolf! Sebastian Stan!

      https://www.duolingo.com/profile/Carmen_Chiem

      Who the hell is Bucky?

(I know who he is, I can't resist making that reference)

      https://www.duolingo.com/profile/quackiestduck

Why are names translated? This seems to add unnecessary confusion

      https://www.duolingo.com/profile/FajarRodeh1

Ugh! If Andrew = Andrei. Michael = Mihai. Then what about me? Fajar = ?

      https://www.duolingo.com/profile/amanda484360

Shouldnt translate names. Agree with all the above

      https://www.duolingo.com/profile/Soulkyssed

I've done this one 17 times. I got it right the third time. Why is it not being accepted? I got it right.

missing the word (eu) in the choice section for solution.

      https://www.duolingo.com/profile/HerrFrenk

missing a word in the choice section for solution. (el) is missing

      https://www.duolingo.com/profile/HerrFrenk

choice section to solution is missing the name Andrei.

      https://www.duolingo.com/profile/James644026

similar issue with name nomenclature....Andrei, Andre, Andrew, Andy....

      https://www.duolingo.com/profile/PerPoulsen3

Drop the name translations. A name is a name...

      [deactivated user]

How is "el e Andrei" not correct? Can't you use the short form here?

        https://www.duolingo.com/profile/Brilli15Bri

        Please keep the original names

        https://www.duolingo.com/profile/alicecojoc1

        e is short for este

        https://www.duolingo.com/profile/kelfantastic

I am struggling with when to use este and when to use esti.
