It's from Turkish dolap I guess. I didn't knew there were so many common words in these two languages...

Could you say something like "coming out of the closet"?

'closet' is a word used in American English, not British - we say 'cupboard' or 'wardrobe', never 'closet'. It is incorrect that your site (through the presumed ignorance of this by its managers) marks as incorrect an answer containing a British alternative to the American word! Please amend your site accordingly.

Can you say about someone being στην ντουλάπα like in English and other languages?

In Hebrew it’s already a familiar expression. I was wondering about Greek.

It a familiar expression in Greek, too, amongst the youth... ;)

the word duds is close to slang, people do not use it much anymore. I have never called my clothes duds.

Τα ρούχα, the clothes, reminds me of the Spanish ropa

ρούχα does not equals "duds" in English as Duoling requires. This mistake appeared in my Duolingo for the second time. All the dictiionaries show me "dress" or "clothes". Added after two weeks: "Duds" are mistaken translation and it still appears here.
