Who else typed "robot of the kitchen"?

I typed "Kitchen robot" :)

That would be correct if talking about an R2-D2 that knows how to cook :-)

I'm sure R2-D2 does. You wouldn't bet against it.

Why not simply "mixer"? Isn't that used in English?

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/crbratu

technically "mixer" only mixes (liquids or semi-liquids, dough, etc.) while "robot de bucatarie" includes also choppers (knives for cutting vegetables, meat, etc.)

So is this like a Thermomix? I typed "kitchen machine", which was not excepted, but maybe that is thinking to German.

Yes, Thermomix is a brand of "robot de bucatarie" (very complex, it also heats food). On this page http://thermomix.vorwerk.co.uk/ it is even presented as "the world's most intelligent food processor"

I'm English and went for food mixer - my old mixer had blades for chopping nuts etc too! This is an evolving area of language as they are still inventing the gadgets! Food processor is certainly a good translation. We have never possessed a full on food processor in pour household - we are still capable of doing things by hand!

I'm calling it a kitchen robot from now on
