A small amount should be correct too.

One day I will laugh with you... so far I think I understand what you write. ; )

a small sum... should be OK. You would seldom say a "little" sum in real life

I totally agree. It is to wonder about the credentials of those translating into English...

what happens with DUO ? i write this sentence exactly as they want. AND THEY SAY IT'S WRONG ! five times in a row !

Did you write it in the wrong language? Sometimes the text box displays saying to write in English/Romanian and it's easy to write the right thing in the wrong language.

i don't think so but what you say is true, it happens from time to time. BUT when it happens the box tells you that you have written it in the wrong language. It was not the case now.

not much is not accepted... so the little may not be money?

"much" is not what the Romanian sentence says -- that would be mult. Mare is an adjective that refers to sumā. To be more precise I would say "not a big one."
