It helps to keep in mind that "politi
cal" is "πολιτι
κός, -ή, -ό" in Greek, and that "πολιτι
στικός, -ή, -ό" stems from "πολιτι
σμός" - "civlization, culture".
[The parts in bold do not necessarily indicate any grammatical parts of the words—i.e. stem, etc.—but are just meant to serve as a visual aid.]

Does the word politistiki have anything to do with belonging to a city ?
I wonder if word can also be translated to "traditional". I translated this word as traditional in the example of "Show me your traditional (rather than cultural) dishes" but it was rejected. I know that there is a more specific word παραδοσιακός (and all its endings) used for traditional but there are often several words which can be translated for the same word. However here is how the Cambridge Dictionary provides one definition of "cultural". cultural adjective (WAY OF LIFE) relating to the habits, traditions, and beliefs of a society: cultural diversity/differences cultural heritage (= ways of living and thinking that have existed for a long time in a society)
