Ukrainian word gender problems
As some people know; Ukrainian has words that are grouped within 3 genders: masculine, feminine and neutral. But when I learn Ukrainian on the Windows 10 app, I can (mostly) not find the gender of the words. Wich leads me to lose my hearts :-(. So please help me with question, maybe you will get lingots :-). (sorry for bad grammar, I am Dutch)

Since this post is about Ukrainian, could you move it to the Ukrainian forum? More of the people who are interested in Ukrainian will see it there, and it will help keep this forum easy to navigate for those who aren't currently studying Ukrainian.
Don't delete it and create a new one, just click edit, and change the topic from Duolingo to Ukrainian. Here's a guide on how to move a post: https://www.duolingo.com/comment/16609773.
Thanks :)

Well, there are 3 genders:
-
masculine - end in a consonant or "-ь" or "-й"
-
feminine - end in "-а" or "-я" (like "-ія)" or "-ь" (yeah, you have to learn by heart which ones are masculine and which ones are feminine) or "ч"
-
neuter - end in "-о" or "-е" or double consonant+я like "-ття"
There are some exceptions connected to meanings, like:
мати - mother - feminine
тато - dad - masculine
батько - father - masculine
дядько - uncle - masculine
любов - love - feminine
I hope I didn't miss anything and now you understand it :)
