I am getting pretty good at German.

I am getting pretty good at speaking German. I want to learn more. I was thinking of doing the reverse tree in English, to accomplish this. However, I just had another thought. Perhaps, I should now learn Spanish from German. What are your thoughts on this?

Do which? Do the reverse tree or learn Spanish from German.

What is your mother tongue, sevespanish? I believe you are learning English from Spanish, not Spanish from English. My German is getting almost as good, as my English. I have been learning German for over thirty years. Dulingo has me rated at 68 percent fluent. I took the English test and my estimated fluency was between seventy to seventy-six percent, which they rated as advanced.

Which do you recommend? The reverse tree or Spanish from German.

Just playing with them. I could say basic things in German or Spanish, but far from being fluent.

But I got really good practice in doing Duo lessons :P

If your German is that good you'll be able to rush through the reverse tree by using all shortcuts. You should be done in 1 or 2 days. After that you can start your Spanish tree without any further doubts.

What good would shortcuts do? I didn't say my German was all that good. Dulingo has me rated at sixty eight percent fluent and I'm over level 25. I still have a lot to learn, it takes repetition. I will probably just do the reverse tree. Learning Spanish would also be very hard. My main goal is improving my German.

Shortcuts get you quicker to the more difficult lessons, as repeating all basics might be a bit boring. You have to pass these tests anyway to jump forward, if your German isn't good enough you won't pass and you know where to start with practicing.

Finished the reverse tree today, plan to get my English up to level 25. Just to see what my English fluency will be rated at. Also working on Spanish from German.

I was doing both German/English-trees. The German-tree from English is twice as comprehensive as the reverse tree. So it should be quite easy for you to do the reverse tree. Studying Spanish from German seems to be a bit more complicated: e.g. I am trying to improve my French language skills. I had (formally) finished the French-tree from German (NB. I am still working on it by 'strengthing') and I was thinking of doing the French-tree from both the English site and the French site. I must admit, that thinking in three languages (mother tongue German - base language English - learning language French) is much more challenging. So I am doing the German-tree from the French site first to improve my French.

I'm doing the reverse tree and familiarizing myself with Spanish. May not learn Spanish. It sounds similar to German as far as letters go though (alphabet) and sounds similar to English in pronunciation. German is my priority. Won't do Spanish before reaching level 25 in English.
