Why is "Eu am un castravete lung" wrong? The dictionary says lung = large, larg = wide and mare = big. So why can't I say "lung" or can I?

DĂșo taughted me from the very beginning that the word for big is Mari eand the word for large is larg so why did marked it wrong??
