Completed German Tree!!
After a little less than a year I have completed the tree! I changed my profile picture because I am so happy! It was a lot of hard work but it was all worth it, I can understand some German now, and with more practice I'll be fluent. It is possible to finish trees! Thank you duolingo for all the help. I just need to continue learning now.

I have learned German for a year outside Duolingo and I have completed the German tree.
From my experience, I can tell you that while Duolingo is fantastic for vocabulary, you really need to look for other resources to learn the grammar (especially with German).
The word order is especially important, the sentence below is a good example of how the word order can seem a bit crazy for an English speaker.
Wenn du gut Deutsch sprechen willst, musst du die Grammatik gut verstehen!
Bitte! Great work though, I wish you the best of luck with your future studies. I'm so happy to see you learning northern european languages too <3
Du kannst es auch, wenn du fest daran glaubst! :D

Hallo elyselop. Gut, try to talk and write, do not worry about perfection. You can get a partner using an app like Hello Talk or conversation exchange, italki to practice your German.

The tutors cost money, not the exchange. A lot of people like hello talk, I like conversation exchange (they are free).
Coeffee.com is a site that you can use to speak with people of the language you want to learn. It's also free, which is awesome. Other than that just practice everyday. Find German books and movies (netflix you can change the language) that should help
