I found it helpful to also do the "Duolingo Dutch for English Speakers" course on Memrise, especially to help learn vocabulary and "de or het."

It gets verryyyy difficult, so feeling like quitting is natural, I stopped learning for 2 months, then came back and felt it was much easier to retain the information and understand it better. I guess it just takes a long break to let the things settle in your mind and then relearning it feeling like "Hey, I know this!" and even if you didn't understand it before, it will feel more 'natural' if that makes sense.

I recommend 'Als de dijken breken'. It's pretty much a realistic show about the national nightmare. (it means: If/when the dikes break) It also features some Belgian characters so you'll also get exposure to the Belgian way of speaking.
