How to see posts than I wrote? [Answered]
I usually write a lot of things in Discussion section and wanted to have a look at one discussion which I created. Is there any way I can do that? Is there a summary of my Discussion posts?
I have this problem too, where I forgot to click on the "follow discussion" button on a thread that I commented on and now I can't find my comment, nor the answer to it if anyone replied... I found it very strange that there was no record of my own comments that I could see, but now, reading this thread, I find out that such a record used to exist, but doesn't now! How is that logical from any point of view? Who decided it was a good idea to do away with that? For such a brilliantly educational site, this is just mindboggling
This is crazy I get an email about this thread, but most of it is 3 years old with little to rely on such as improvements, mystery activity button. and so on. "Better than activity"! Personally i feel that any participation ia an activity and I would like to be able to retrace it for a variety of reasons. But here, today, I don't find anything helpful in that regard.
not very helpful ....3 years old thread apart an entry 22hours ago! and now mine - But where is the answer? Yes there is no activity button in my profile and very little else too. It would be good if moderators would get rid of irrelevant old posts or update them
I know, I know. Old thread. But, most of the answers are lamenting the disappearance of the "Activity" button. Right now, what I do, is go through my browser's history to find my comment. It'll have to do until Duolingo give us this basic function. >_
something is not working right with 'activity' today........... half the entries show as 'blank'.....so you can't see the actual comments.......and clicking on them, doesn't take you to them anymore.....
is this another 'new feature'...... or is it broken today?
Better than the Activity button, is to go to your profile. There you at least see only your activity and not the activity of you plus all the people you follow.
Its still not the best for year-old comments, but I comment a lot and I can usually easily go back about a month.
The best method for me has been to scroll the profile for a bit (I usually just hold down Pg Dn) , and then use the search function (usually ctrl f) of your web browser and try a couple of key words you can remember from the discussion.
It is not there on the profile now. I am very sorry that this has disappeared from profile, as I made a comment and have since found that I was wrong, and I wanted to correct it, but cannot find it. (November 2017)
Me too. Last night (23 May 2018 I made a comment on the learning English from French program. At three am this morning I woke realising that I had made an error in my post and tried to find my comment using a Google search (which has worked for me before) but could not locate it. If Duo had not removed the activity menu, I could have easily edited my post. Now I just have to wait until another user downvotes my comment along with a disparaging remark. Perhaps that feature will re-appear one day? Also, I really miss being able to message other users without making the conversation public. Why on earth was that feature removed???
Another solution, if you do remember the title of the discussion (or any particular comment made there after your first comment) and hoping someone else commented it since your first comment in it, is to search in your email notifications. If you didn't (foolishly :)) deactivate them of course....
I prefer it to stream solution since I never read it (with around 400 entries by week, is not really adapted for reading nor searching).
