"influence on the children" is a more accepted way of saying it in English. It means the same thing.
OK, after a bit of hesitation, I'm now on board with "influence for the children," but how might I say "influence on the children"? I'd usually say "role model for the children" but "influence on the children."
Probably "influencia en los ninos," but I'm not sure that would be a normal way of putting it in Spanish.
