I put: They carry on. Why isn't it correct?

The narrator accents the first syllable of αυτοί . the accent is written on the second syllable, are the marked accents not so strict in spoken Greek?

The narrator accents the second syllable he just prolongs the first one. Accents are strict.

Δεν νομίζω πως υπάρχει τέτοιου είδους προφορά. Είναι προφανές ότι ακούγεται η λανθασμένη λέξη "Αύτοι" προβληματίζοντας αρκετά τους αρχάριους,

There is a word in anatomy, meaning a sort of a joint: Syneki. Which look like it has the origin in greek. Συνεχι could be the origin.
