Why is "Peştele tale mănâncă pâine" wrong? As far as I know, fish can be both plural or singular in English.
The form "eat" suggests third person plural, rather than singular. Also, the correct Romanian pronoun would be "tău".
But "Pestii tai..." could be equal to "Your fish" while maintaining the verb form "eat"
You're right, but it's not what hptroll asked.
Thanks. I stand corrected.
Because here "tale" is wrong.
Peştele tău mănâncă pâine. = Your fish eats bread.
Peştele vostru mănâncă pâine. = Your fish eats bread.
Peştii tăi mănâncă pâine. = Your fish eat bread.
Peştii voștri mănâncă pâine. = Your fish eat bread.
Before it was voștri but now it's tău? I don't understand.
voștri: plural second person possesser, tăi: singular second person possesser
how do you know fish is plural or not ...
