Does the word 'Glaswellt' have any relation to the word for blue?

Yes. "Glas" traditionally was used with anything that was a "living green" if that makes sense. So plants and grass etc were "Glas" not "Gwyrdd". Now some people may still follow this these days but in my experiance and personal preference it to use "Glas" for "Blue" and "Gwyrdd" for "Green" not matter what I'm describing. "Wellt" is a soft mutation of "Gwellt" which means "Hay" so "Glaswellt" is literally "Green-hay".
