I am getting Error 404 when I try to open a post in the Forum
I tried to open a Discussion called Language Map and I kept getting Error 404. I was able to open other posts. And the discussion still seems to be there. Is there a restriction on accounts for certain posts?
Error 404 means that the server cannot find the requested page. The most likely cause is that it has been deleted.
It's still listed in the Discussions and it seems to be popular. Does it take a while for them to remove deleted posts?
If you refresh the Discussions page I'm pretty sure it won't be there any more. It's most likely that it's been deleted in the time between you loading the Discussions page and clicking on the link.
I just tried and it is still there. Does this mean the person whose Discussion it is has blocked me?
I made the discussion, but I didn't delete it, and I didn't block you either. I can't see it either - I get the Error 404 page.
...and I'm guessing there was nothing about it that would cause it to be deleted by a moderator? You haven't heard from them about it?
@hughcparker No, I've heard nothing from any of the mods. It wasn't spam either.
I was pretty sure it wouldn't be :)
I think you need to report a bug, Bernie.
Huh, weird. I've just been and checked - I'm getting the same thing. My best guess is that there's some sort of glitch on the server, and the discussion page has been cached, and is lagging behind the rest of the site.
