I can't understand. At the top of the page I see the English: "The letter omega" the Greek " το γράμμα ωμέγα''. The Greek is the right answer. Please give more information so we can help you.

In the multiple choice, the prompt is "The letter omega" and in addition to "το γραμμα ωμέγα," we are also given "το γραμμα ω," which is right as well. So if you only choose one answer, you are of course marked wrong. It may be that she was confused because many non Greek speakers think omega is only "Ω" and don't realize that that is the capital form of the letter and the lowercase form is "ω." I didn't until I looked it up.

In the questions when there is α we are supposed to chose a and when there is άλφα we are supposed to chose alpha. When the is the phrase το γράμμα μ we are supposed to write the letter m and when there is το γράμμα μι we are supposed to write the letter mee.

See where the problem is? It says the letter omega so we should answer το γράμμα ωμέγα but the only possible answer is το γράμμα ω

Since there is no other option offered in the possible answers, there isn't a problem really and the student should make the right choice BUT it is something that should be fixed AND it is already a year that the problem has been addressed and nothing has been done.

In addition to jaye16's reply, with all the new changes in the crown system and the ones to come, multiple choice exercises will only have one correct answer from now on.

It's an issue, yes, but it's not one we can do something about, as we don't control multiple choice exercises. That's Duolingo's algorithm. And that's why we are working on a new tree, in which the Alphabet skill is going to be word-based.

Making a course with over 3.000 words, therefore more than 10.000 sentences (as the new crown system suggests), is hard. And time-consuming. I think it would only be fair to ignore an issue like this one for now and focus on something that's going to make learning much easier for everyone. Seeing the bigger picture is necessary, sometimes.

Your addition, Dimitra, to jaye16's reply was indeed a welcome and necessary addition.

You explain the bigger picture ( which I couldn't know of ) in a non defensive way and you are not assuming that I assume anything..

Obviously your communication skills are much better than... let's say mine

Thank you!

You are absolutely correct and the glitches in this skill are one of the main reasons we are now creating a new tree. You have done enough lessons on the course to verify that in other areas any errors we find or that have been brought to our attention have been corrected immediately.
We have made numerous efforts to correct the alphabet skill and the only reason we don't disable it is that poor as it may be it serves the purpose of initiating learners into the Greek alphabet.

We have included a very full Tips & hints as well as a link with further details and instructions on how to get the Greek keyboard, how to find the letters on the qwerty keyboard, the pronunciation of the letters etc. See the comments on this page.

So please don't come to the conclusion that "nothing has been done".

Some simple hints to get you started:

Always read the comments before posting. Read the Tips & notes, on the first page of each lesson you’ll see an image of a light bulb. Click on that. 3. Read the drop down hints. Pass your cursor over a word and a list of words will appear. The top word/phrase is usually the best choice.
