Speaking Danish

Is there a way to set the course to speaking only? My danish husband says it is just as important to know how to speak as well as know how to spell.

I do not believe so, but practicing with your husband may help.

I actually find that sometimes Danish pronunciation has quite a lot in common with the English. Throw in a strange Scottish accent and some Cockney glottals and you should be good to go. Adding in some beers or a good Scotch should also help and has the added advantage he will be less perfectionist. Don't know about the potatoes or any of that so you will have to ask a Norwegian or Swede about that :-) Besides it doesn't seem very Danish to be perfectionist in a nasty sort of way so I am sure his pride of everything Danish will soon make him want to help you master the language ;-)
