This is explained in the notes for the earlier section 'Present tense 3'

The negative forms of 'he/she/it is' and 'you/they are' add a d- at the front:

  • Dyw hi ddim - She is not
  • Dwyt ti ddim - You are not
  • Dydyn nhw ddim - They are not

Other forms are sometimes used, although less often, and we do not use them on this course. For interest they are:

  • (Dy)dw i ddim
  • (Dy)dyn ni ddim
  • (Dy)dych chi ddim
