What is the difference Azi and Astazi?

Why not I read a book today?

I think that would be "Eu citesc o carte astăzi"

As a couple people (including a native Romanian speaker) pointed out for a similar question in this lesson, putting "today" at the end changes the emphasis/meaning slightly. If they wanted to say "I read a book today" they would say "Eu citesc o carte azi"

I English, we would normally say "I (will) read a book today". Would that be a valid translation of this from Romanian too?

Can "azi" also go at the end of the sentence like in English?
