timer in irish is too fast
I'm level 25 and from ireland but the timer on duolingo is too short based on the amount on amount of letters context key travel etc. French seems a lot better laid out.
the time allowed to complete sentences - timed practice. I think its too short.
It really isn't. Timed Practice is optional, and it is the closest that a text based system like Duolingo can come to simulating real life, where you have to understand what you are hearing quickly, and respond quickly, and there is no pause button to allow you to replay it a couple of times, and consult a dictionary or check your notes.
Timed Practice also teaches you that sometimes you just have to move on, maybe something that you hear later will clarify things for you, but sometimes you're just going to miss out some of what people are saying until you're a lot more fluent in the language.
When you first start doing Timed Practice, you're not used to the pace, and it's hardly surprising that you might only get one or two questions right, but with practice, you will get faster. But if you're not familiar enough with the content to cope with Timed Practice, the answer is to do more untimed practice, it's not to "fix" Timed Practise (breaking it for other users in the process).
I wish they could break up the subjects/skills into better steps. Its like when you reach level 20+ or have 4/5 in the progress bar they test you full on, while when the skill is empty the questions are just too easy.
Building a skill would be great or some more memory hooks.
