I think this phrase needs a little context. I said "Right there" because I figured someone was pointing something out to someone else. Am I right to go in that direction?

Ditto. I've literally never heard someone say "exactly there." In English, you say "right there."

We might also say "Just there"; "Right" is more used in US/Canada than in UK in this sense, I think.
