When will Romanian for English speakers be released from beta?
I love Duolingo! It helped me communicate well in Spanish during a few trips to Mexico with only a couple months of practice before my first trip.
I need to learn Romanian badly! The beta version is great so far. However, it's difficult with only online/web practice functionality compared to the mobile app.
My question - when will Romanian for English be released from Beta? Or, better question, when will it be available on the Duolingo mobile app?
Romanian for English will be released from Beta as soon as all (most) of the mistakes or errors (audio, words, dictionary hints, etc...) will be fixed, and the course will be great, things working smoothly, etc.
Romanian will be also available on the mobile app as soon as the ''Duolingo Contributors, staff and others involved, decides to make it work on the app.
Do you know if new languages have a typical time length between beta and production releases? If so, do you know what it might be?
It varies wildly. There have been courses that are out for a month and they get on the app long before the end of beta, while others take quite a while to get out of beta or onto phones.
Out of curiosity, what is lacking for you only using the website? Other than the convenience of being able to use a phone in more places (which I totally understand), many people, myself included, find the app woefully lacking and too easy compared to the web version.
The web version on desktop is great. But using the web version on iPhone in Safari is buggy.
An example of buggy (not an issue, more an annoyance): On the mobile web version you have to click "Check" button twice every time. Press "Check" once and a prompt appears saying "Press Enter to Check". Then you just have to press "Check" button again.
Thanks for the info!
