I wonder about how both "Ένα ποντίκι και ένα γατί." and "Ένα ποντίκι και μία γάτα." are correct and why ένα makes γατί but μία makes γάτα.


"γατί" is another, more casual name for "cat". "γατί" is neuter, so it takes "ένα", whereas "γάτα" is feminine, therefore it takes "μία"!
