Why is there both mă and pe mine?

Redundancy. (Voi) mă urmăriți (pe mine). Both voi and pe mine can be inferred.

Note that there are cases where it can be ambiguous without context. Like te urmăresc. It could be either:

  • (Eu) te urmăresc (pe tine).

  • (Ei) te urmăresc (pe tine).

  • (Ele) te urmăresc (pe tine).

I'm sort of wondering why this whole section sounds like an ode to the securitate! I spy on my niece, she accuses them, you are following me... There's more to Romanian culture than cold war era distrust.
